Our services

Hello friends!
Thank you so much for following our blog and fan page! We have been working so hard to keep everyone up to speed on what all we have going on but things are moving so fast it is hard to have time to update! We had an amazing December. Thank you to everyone who used our services. We worked hard but had a great time doing it. We are still expanding our business. We have some amazing contacts and because of that we are turning into a one stop shop be it for your wedding/event or your home.
We are still working on our packages and deciding on our fees. I just wanted to remind everyone of what all we can do.
For weddings and events we offer everything from rentals, set up, tear down, design, lighting and full production of your event (someone running your entire event from start to finish) not to mention all the custom stuff that we can do which really sets us apart from your average "wedding planner."
As far as interiors go we have two on staff interior designers both with the education and experience to create the most exclusive designs. We do remodel jobs (from concept to finished product)... we can even keep your subs in line AND provide a builder for you so you really don't have to do ANYTHING but watch your dream come to life! We can help you decide on paint colors, finishes, appliances, upholstery, everything! We can do all your custom build outs, custom closets, we have access to great shutters and blinds, lighting, custom drapes, upholstered headboards,  and bedding. Whew! Thats alot you say? Yes it is, so don't make the mistake of hiring someone that can't offer all of this to you. Call us today with any questions at 205-365-4483

Custom Drapes and Events

December has been so wonderful for us and we are so thankful to those of you who have continued to show your support by choosing us to do your events.  Its tough enough in this economy to find amazing people to do work for and you just continue to call us and we are so blessed by it!

Last week we were able to set up for two events; one a baby shower and the second was a bridal brunch.  The shower was more hands off, we just provided and set up the decor and flowers and our lovely client ; the beautiful Mandi Clark (and friends), provided the food.  She wanted the shower to reflect her home and style and also give that spark of holiday flair and elegance for the mother to be.  We came in and brought linens, custom chair ties, we even switched out light bulbs and used live garland and crystal to enhance the character of her already fabulous chandelier.  The flowers were all done by Mallory Wilkins Events & Interiors, she wanted all ivory and we chose a blend of hydrangeas, football mums, some bells of Ireland for contrast and a few of our favorites to make the perfect blend all tied together with a touch of ivory ribbon around the vase.
She had a large open floor plan with one room leading itself into another and her furniture and color scheme were all in place she just needed something to bring it all together.  She called me with the idea of hanging custom drapes in the cased opening leading from the den into the dining room.  I met with her to talk about the design and to measure, look at fabric and discuss what her ideas were.  We ended up choosing a 100% dupioni silk in a champagne color.  When we were designing them we had to consider the back side since it was a cased opening you would be able to see the drapes from both sides which meant bringing the silk around to the back.  The hardware we went with was a burnished bronze with subtle hints of gold which was the perfect contrast to the drapes.  We were able to make them for her and get them hung before the shower at her home.

The second event we did was for our bride Katie Guyton.  She and her mother Laura wanted a whimsical Christmas theme.  With the wedding just around the corner they wanted us to handle the brunch so they could relax and just enjoy it.  The food was provided by the Gadsden Country Club, cake was by The Cupboard and all decor, linens, and flowers were provided by us.  We set up everything and we came back and took everything down for them.  We brought in custom place cards to make it very personal and made the bride her own book for the "charm cake" (which we just love having at any function where you are honoring your bridesmaids, there are others ways to do this besides a cake if you wanted to do something different....but you can never go wrong with cake :)

We are now moving on to the main event, their wedding which is this Saturday. All of our crew will be in attendance for this event and we are thrilled to be a part of her big day!

What's in a videographer?

Well I know that we have fallen behind on updates and I am so sorry for that.  Lucky my excuse is because we have been very busy and we are so thankful for that.  Please continue supporting us and spreading the word about our services.
Now on to the title of this post....whats in a videographer?  Well my answer to that is EVERYTHING.  When your special day has come and gone the only thing your going to have left to remember it by are your pictures and your video.  Now there are so many options available and each person you meet is going to have a different style.  We have worked with Josh and Mandy Frantz on several events and we highly recommend their work.  Here is a highlight video of Maegan & Eric's wedding just to give you a first hand look at some of our work and a sample of what to expect from I Do Flix.  We were so thankful to get the chance to work with them again and we hope to do many more events with them in the future.  Thank you so much for providing us with this video link!

The brains.....

Well if anyone knows me they know that I have an imagination that runs wild, I dream up crazy things and then someone says, "oh wait Mallory remember that MOB that you just talked to?  She gave you a budget!"  You always need someone with a business mind around you when you are the kind of person that I am.  I am always wanting to do more and I sometimes need to be reminded to STOP when I am supposed to.  That is where Maegan West comes in.  I needed someone who was intelligent and vibrant at the same time.  Someone who wouldn't question what I was doing with goggles and a nail gun but who would just go with it and make sure that I was spending money in the best way possible.
I got her to give you an insight into the woman she is,  I am so thrilled that she wanted to be my partner in this company.

"My name has currently just changed to Maegan Wrenn West. I guess you could call me Mallory Wilkins Interiors and Events first big client. I have recently been asked to join Mallory’s team. As a designer you might ask…. Absolutely not! I am the business mind. I graduated from the University of Alabama with my bachelor’s degree in accountancy in 2009. In 2010, I graduated from UA with my masters in accountancy. I
am currently sitting for the CPA exam.

I am excited to have the opportunity to assist Mallory in making her dreams come true. Mallory is wonderful at what she does. She can make anything look beautiful. She once turned baby formula cans into small lanterns. She really never does cease to amaze me. But her one flaw (which many creative people have this problem) she is all over the
place. Fortunately, she has me as a sister to tunnel her energy and vision. I love creating business plans and budgets. I love to be organized and scheduled. I love to manage! I
believe that is what I am best at. "

From reading that you can see how excited that I am to have her working with me.  She is right...I am all over the place!  We balance each other out very well and I know that together we are going to move mountains!

Love you all,

December Events

We are getting excited about our events in December.  We have several things on our plate (some of which happen to be on the same day!)  We have some showers we are doing, a bridal luncheon and a wedding and we are excited about it all!
I wanted to post a few pictures of our next bride, Katie Guyton.  She will be marring Ryan Franks on December 18th.  We are so thrilled to be working on this event, we are going to do a walk through with the mother of the bride next week at the reception site.  They have ideas of what they want and have already chosen the vendors themselves so we are coming in on the tail end of it all and pulling it together and adding some of our signature touches!
The photos are courtesy of Taylor Haynie Photography.  Please check out her work she is amazing!

New Faces

Good afternoon!

What wonderful warm weather we are having in November, nothing beats sunshine!
I know that I already spoke about having some new people joining in on this adventure with me and I would like to formaly introduce one of them.  I am proud to say that Brianne Phillips will be joining us as we continue to grow and establish our company.  I know that at some point I am not going to be able to be in two places at one time and I knew that I would have to have someone that I trusted who was as crazy about details as I am to take my place when we were spread thin. In my mind Bri was the first person that I thought of!  Brianne and I crossed pathes at the University of Alabama where we both pledged the same sorority and just so happened to both major in Interior Design.

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

When Brianne was in 3rd grade art class she knew the exact answer to that question and she told everyone! Brianne wanted to be an interior designer, party planner or a teacher. 24 short years later she still has the same passion for all those things along with the enthusiasm and education to achieve those aspirations today.
Brianne graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in interior design. Thru her amazing experience at Alabama she also discovered her other talents in life; Fashion, Party planning and organizing. “Mom” has always been Brianne’s nickname, even in high school she was coordinating events from football games, school dances, birthday parties and vacation plans. Brianne’s take charge attitude and ability to delegate tasks is great attributes that were cultivated at a young age and grew exponentially thru her life experiences during and after college.  During college Brianne managed a clothing boutique which not only tripled the size of her wardrobe that was already an impressive size but also expanded her enthusiasm and love for fashion. Helping customers select a new outfit and watching their faces light up with a new found confidence  is a feeling that Brianne will never forget and something that she aspires to do daily.
Now that college has ended the events just keep on pilling up for Brianne to help plan between friends engagement parties, weddings and baby showers there is no shortage of parties to plan. Organizing parties and anything else that needs a little help along the way has always been Brianne expertise. Her ability to see a situation and put all the pieces together to create a masterpiece is uncanny. From envisioning an outfit from nothing to amazing night out, decorating a boring room to bedroom that creates tranquility or taking a small get together to the party of the year is truly only something that is achievable thru great passion, drive and patience.
Brianne currently works as a Nanny, house manager, where she gets to do all the things she loves. When Mallory proposed the concept of this company she knew she could not pass up this amazing opportunity and she can’t wait for all the experiences that lie ahead.

Congrats Bri and we are so happy to have you join us!  We hope that this is something we can all enjoy doing together for many years to come!
More on "the team" to come........

Getting geared up...

Is it really already the weekend?  I have been so busy this week recovering from the wedding and moving on to the next event that I could hardly catch my breath.  I am getting so excited to begin this new venture!  I am working right now with a good friend on throwing a baby shower.  She didn't want the normal "everything in pink/blue" shower.  She wants to step it up and really make it special.  I was so honored that she asked us to do it for her.  It will be beautiful and I know that the mommy-to-be will cherish and remember it for a lifetime!
Next we will jump right back into wedding mode. Looking forward to a consult with another bride and her mom.  I already have the sketch's done for the reception and I am thinking it will be oh so fab!
I honestly hope to get more events, they are very hard work but I love to design and be able to pull off something that no one has done before.  We offer so many resources, of course like I just said my favorite part is designing and helping get the event in the direction that the client is wanting it to go and then watching it all unfold and be perfect when they walk in and see it for the first time.  I live for "the reaction."  That is honestly my favorite part of it all!  We also offer a day service where we just help you come up with the event concept and we leave you with all the ideas and you DIY!  Or we can step in where you are having trouble like with venue selection or maybe you have everything for the reception but you just don't know how to put it all together, we can help with pretty much anything!  Or maybe you want to have a smashing party for a friend but you honestly just want someone to handle it all for you, well what a shock.....we do that too! Please call/email us with any questions and continue to let your friends and family know about us.
All my love,

Wrenn-West Wedding

Whew! This weekend was so very exciting because it was our first wedding event but very exhausting too.  The wedding went perfectly and we are so grateful that we had this opportunity.  It is amazing to talk to a bride, pick her brain and find out what she wants her special day to be like; then making it happen for her.  Her face when she sees everything makes it all worth it in the end.  I want to say a special thanks to Pam Richardson and her staff, to Jeff Phillips Electricians, Crystal Clear band, Attalla Florist, Classic Catering, Josh and Mandy Frantz of I Do Flix, Christian and Lana Bouldin of Christian Micheal Photography and most importantly my husband, Steven Wilkins (Concept Construction) without you to execute my drawings and sketches none of this would have been possible.  Thank you also to the other members of the crew and my family; my uncle Eddie and Aunt Donna, Heather James (she also might be joining the team on a few weddings, she has great vision for detail as well), my Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Mike.  I know that I am leaving people out, but I truly love you all and the day wouldn't have been as smooth without you.

I know that it can only get better from here and I am looking forward to working many more weddings and events in the future.  If anyone has any pictures from the wedding please tag us in them.  I will have video footage and pictures soon courtesy of I Do Flix (thanks Josh and Mandy for everything you do!) I have attached a few pictures that I took but I am sure they not as good as the ones to come. It was hard to be in a wedding that you have to plan and make sure everything goes well, so I am sure that the next weddings I do will be a little easier :)

God Bless you all,

Wrenn-West Wedding

It is the week of Maegan Wrenn and Eric West wedding.  We have been working hard to ensure that every single detail of the event runs as smooth as possible.  We are so excited to get to work with David and Cathy Mashburn of Classic Catering once again.  If I had to recommend the perfect staff to work an event it would be them.  Getting to work with David is like working with an artist, his food melts in your mouth and the presentation is second to none.  He started out catering from his home and then expanded to Classic on Noble in Anniston where the everyday person can walk into the 1800's structure and dine amongst gorgeous crystal chandeliers and drink from fine crystal.  Classic On Noble has been featured in Southern Living, Historical Restaurants of the South, 100 Places to Eat Before You Die, The Anniston Star, The Birmingham News, and elsewhere. Dignitaries such as former President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter, US Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, Congressman Mike Rogers, former and present Governors, Amy Grant, members the band Alabama, and countless others have all dined at Classic.
We are honored to work this event with you and can not wait to watch you and your staff pull off another successful wedding in the South!

Wrenn/West Wedding 10.30.10

Maegan Wrenn and Eric West are to be wed before the eve falls on October 30th 2010. We have been looking forward to this event for a year now. For those of you who don't know Maegan is my sister and I am so excited to be such a part of her big day. She has let us be in full control of the event and we are excited to show how well we can interpret the brides dreams and visions of what her special day will be like. Very excited to work with Benny Campbell of Attalla Florist, Diane Olexa of Olexa's Cafe in Mountain Brook she is making a gorgeous 5 tiered cake and will be at the wedding for cake cutting, also Josh and Mandy Frantz of I Do Flix, and Christian and Lana Bouldin of Atlanta Ga. on the wedding photography.
Our staff will be doing all the lighting, and design/building of the main wedding elements.
Also a huge thanks to my dear friend Pam Richardson (and her staff) who will be taking my place to execute the setup since I will be in this wedding:)
This will be a gorgeous day and I am so glad that it will be our first offical event!

The start of something grand......

Well I finally did it!  It has taken a long time for me to finally cave into this.  After graduating from the University of Alabama (RTR!) with a degree in Interior Design I decided to go back and work for my father just to gain experience before putting both feet down and taking off.  During that time of working for him I have gotten married and had a beautiful baby girl.  Through it all I have had this gut feeling that I was supposed to be doing more.  I was working weddings, helping people with lighting layouts, going to teach people how to organize their clutter, space planning furniture, taking care of my family and everything in between.  I was so tired, but after each event and after watching each family move into their home I would say, "well wasn't that a success, I love what I do."  I knew I would be busy doing these very things for the rest of my life.
Being creative was instilled within me ever since I was born.  My sisters and I had tons of Barbie stuff, playhouses, cars, grocery store, restaurant, pet clinic....the whole nine yards.  Whenever we would go upstairs to play I would spend so much time setting up everything that I never realized my sisters had gone on to play something without me and had already had lunch!  I would have to set the dishes on the table, move the furniture around in the dream house until it was all perfect.  I should have known then that I was going to be doing this.
We have added a team member, Brianne Phillips, who is actually one of my dear friends and colleague from UA.  She too graduated with a degree in Interior Design.  She has a history of working in retail and sales along with interior design.  Her skills will be valued and we are looking forward to working your next event!
